Low-maintenance Dispense Valve Provides Trouble-free Cyanoacrylate Application Cyanoacrylate, also known as 'CA' or 'super glue,' is used to bond everything from automotive components to medical devices. Great bond strength and short cure time are two reasons why this high-performance adhesive is used in so many different industries and applications. Cyanoacrylates range in viscosity from thin fluids to thick gels, and cure by reacting with moisture ions on the surfaces of the substrates to be joined. Controlled application, however, is critical to achieving good bonds, because too little adhesive can result in bond failures while too much may keep the bond from curing properly. To meet these challenges, EFD (East Providence, RI) developed the 752V-UH dispense valve. Just 3 inches high by 1 inch in diameter, this compact diaphragm valve features a seal-less design that provides tens of millions of accurate deposits without maintenance or downtime. The valve's wetted parts are made from an inert, ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) polymer that is highly resistant to reactive fluids and premature curing. To assure reliable, trouble-free operation, the 752V-UH does not use seals, which can wear out and leak. Instead, a fast-acting diaphragm separates the adhesive from the valve's internal mechanical parts and provides precise fluid control. Other features include a fast, clean cutoff that prevents dripping, and an adjustable stroke control that regulates fluid flow.
